Where do the leads come from if there is no database?
Two places, and no third. Search runs through your own LinkedIn seat using your own entitlement, and you can import your own CSVs. There is no bundled contact database and no purchased data, which is a deliberate product decision rather than a gap.
Why there is no bundled database
External data providers were removed from the product in September 2026 and will not return. Bundled B2B databases are stale in ways you cannot audit, they create data-protection exposure under GDPR and DPDP that the buyer inherits, and they encourage the broad lists that destroy acceptance rate.
The replacement is not a smaller database. It is your own seat, your own exports, and columns the agent researches per person.
What you get instead
Search through your seat, so results reflect your real network and degree of connection. Import of any CSV, which also turns your contacted history into suppression memory on day one. And researched columns: the agent reads a profile and writes what it found into a persistent field rather than a chat message you lose.
The trade honestly stated
You cannot ask this product for ten thousand verified emails. If that is the motion you want, this is the wrong tool. What you get is a list you can defend, where every person has a nameable reason to be on it, which is the thing that actually protects the account.
