Start with the job Claude must do
Publishing a post and working an outreach inbox are different jobs. OpenTweet describes hosted publishing and scheduling to a connected personal profile. IBM's chuk-mcp-linkedin project documents post composition, previews and publishing, with OAuth required for publishing. Neither description establishes a prospecting-and-inbox workflow.
For local profile research and messaging, stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server lists search, profile, invitation and inbox tools. Its README says it drives your own logged-in browser session locally. For hosted search, CSV import, reviewed sequences and inbox work, LinkedBoost publishes a Claude setup guide and tool reference. Its documented surface does not include original-post publishing or native CRM and email delivery in this build.
Ask how the connection works
MCP is the interface between Claude and a tool provider. It does not say whether that provider reaches LinkedIn through an approved API grant, a local browser session or a managed account connection. Read the provider's current setup guide and test the exact action on an account you control. A vendor's feature list is not a completed-action receipt.
For outreach, inspect the target, the drafted message and the actual approval state before sending. Then verify the terminal result in the workspace. Do not infer a delivered invitation or message from a queued step or a successful MCP connection alone.
In particular, distinguish a reply in an existing conversation from a new message to a profile. The local server's README documents a caveat about profile-targeted messages starting a separate thread. Inspect the actual target and tool behavior for your use case.
Account risk is part of the choice
LinkedIn's User Agreement restricts bots and other unauthorized automated methods for accessing its service and sending messages. It also reserves the right to restrict accounts. Hosting in the cloud, pacing and human review do not by themselves establish LinkedIn authorization or remove that risk. Ask each provider to explain its access method and controls before connecting a client account.
Where LinkedBoost fits
