Software designed to be operated by an AI agent through typed tools, rather than by a human through a dashboard — the interface is the protocol, not the UI.
The test: could the product's whole surface be driven from a conversation? Agent-native tools return structured envelopes (what happened, what's notable, what to do next) instead of rendering screens, and encode their guardrails server-side because the caller is a model that will do whatever the tools permit. Legacy tools bolt a chat window onto a dashboard; agent-native tools were never a dashboard to begin with.
