AI slop
Low-effort AI-generated content and outreach — template mail with a first-name merge, generic flattery, obviously machine-written notes. LinkedIn now lets users flag it with a dedicated report option.
Slop is a volume strategy meeting a relevance problem: when every inbox gets 400 AI SDR emails a week, recipients stop reading anything that pattern-matches to machine output. The escape isn't better templates — it's actual reading. A note that references what the prospect wrote this week can't be pattern-matched to slop, because it isn't. That requires research per prospect, which is precisely the work agents are good at and sequencers never did.
