Ideal customer profile (ICP)
The written definition of who you sell to: role, company size, industry, geography, and the exclusions: precise enough that a list can be filtered against it mechanically.
Write criteria precisely enough for another person to apply them to the same audience. Save the approved criteria in workspace knowledge and record reasons for qualification decisions. Some criteria need research after search; no single LinkedIn filter set expresses every ICP.
In practice
Save role, geography, company-size criteria, and exclusions in workspace knowledge, then check a small group against them.
What to check
An ICP is a decision rule, not a promise that search filters can express every criterion. Research missing evidence before qualification.
Use it in LinkedBoost
- get_knowledge
Read saved notes about the workspace, a person, or a company.
- mark_leads
Apply qualification decisions or do-not-contact to selected group members.
